Itinerary

  • Day 1: Bagdogra/Siliguri – Phuentsholing Upon arrival at Bagdogra Airport, our team will greet you and drive you to the Bhutan border. Phuentsholing, a commercial center on the edge of the Indian plains, offers a fascinating mix of Indian and Bhutanese culture. Complete immigration formalities and check into your hotel. Overnight in Phuentsholing.
  • Day 2: Phuentsholing – Paro (155 km) After breakfast, get briefed on safety driving rules. Complete bike formalities and start your journey on the Phuentsholing – Thimphu highway. Stop for photos at Gedu University and have a tea break at a highway restaurant. Visit the National Museum in Paro. Overnight in Paro.
  • Day 3: Paro – Tiger Nest Monastery Hike and Hot Stone Bath (40 km) After breakfast, hike to Taktsang Monastery (Tiger’s Nest), perched 2,000ft up on a cliff. The hike takes about 1.5 hours to the teahouse and another hour to the monastery. Enjoy lunch with views of the monastery and Paro valley. Return trek is downhill. Overnight in Paro.
  • Day 4: Paro – Chelela to Thimphu (110 km) After breakfast, drive to Chelela pass, one of the highest motorable passes in Bhutan. Enjoy the botanical paradise and photo sessions. Return to Paro and drive to Thimphu, the capital of Bhutan. Visit Buddha Point in the evening. Overnight in Thimphu.
  • Day 5: Thimphu – Druk Wangyel Festival – Punakha (90 km)
    • Druk Wangyel Festival Tour: Attend the Druk Wangyel Festival, performed by the Royal Bhutan Army. After breakfast, ride towards Punakha, stopping at Dochu-la pass. Continue to Punakha and check into your hotel. Overnight in Punakha.
    • Paro Festival Tour: Visit Dochula Pass and view the 108 memorial chortens. Continue to Punakha and check into your hotel. Explore Punakha Dzong. Overnight in Punakha.
  • Day 6: Punakha – Sightseeing and Rural Village Life Explore After breakfast, visit Punakha Dzong, built at the junction of two rivers in 1637. Explore Punakha city center and take a short walk to Chimi Lhakhang, known as the Fertility temple. Overnight in Punakha.
  • Day 7: Punakha – Phobjikha to Bumthang (240 km) After breakfast, drive to Phobjikha Valley, then continue to Bumthang. Pass through Pele La Pass and Yotong La. Reach Bumthang, known for its Red Panda habitat. Overnight in Bumthang.
  • Day 8: Bumthang Valley Sightseeing – Trongsa (110 km)
    • Druk Wangyel Festival Tour: After breakfast, walk to Jambay Lhakang and Kurjey Lhakang. Cross the suspension bridge to Tamshing Lhakang. Visit the Swiss farm, local temples, and workshops. Drive to Trongsa in the evening. Overnight in Trongsa.
    • Paro Festival Tour: After breakfast, walk to Jambay Lhakang and Kurjey Lhakang. Visit Mebartsho (Burning Lake) and enjoy the scenic beauty. Explore the local markets in Bumthang. Drive to Trongsa in the evening. Overnight in Trongsa.
  • Day 9: Trongsa – Gelephu Bhutan (185 km)
    • Druk Wangyel Festival Tour: Visit Trongsa Dzong castle and a museum. Ride south through dramatic landscapes, passing the Zhemgang District. Arrive at low altitudes of southern Bhutan, inhabited by people of Nepali origin. Overnight in Gelephu.
    • Paro Tour: Visit Trongsa Dzong and explore the Trongsa Tower Museum. Enjoy the panoramic views of the Mangde River. Continue riding towards Gelephu. Overnight in Gelephu.
  • Day 10: Gelephu – Tsirang – Jigme Chhu Camp Site (165 km)
    • Druk Wangyel Festival Tour: After breakfast, visit a Hindu Temple. Ride through dense jungles, ascending back to the mountains. Reach Damphu Town and continue to Sunkosh river valley. Arrive at Jigme Chhu Camp Site. Overnight at the camp site.
    • Paro Tour: After breakfast, explore Gelephu and its surroundings. Ride through lush forests and hilly terrain to Tsirang. Continue to the scenic Jigme Chhu Camp Site. Overnight at the camp site.
  • Day 11: Jigme Chhu Camp Site to Phuentsholing (90 km) After breakfast, ride towards Phuentsholing. Customize your sightseeing with your guide. Arrive in Phuentsholing and check into your hotel. Overnight in Phuentsholing.
  • Day 12: Phuentsholing – Bagdogra Airport (155 km) After breakfast, complete immigration check-out formalities. Drive to Bagdogra Airport for your onward journey. End of the tour.

Departure day:

Spend some time in Badgdora or fly back home. The choice is yours!

Accommodation:

11 Nights shared double / twin room at 3 stars hotels. Campsites and Guest Houses when off the beaten track.

Single accommodation is available with a supplement of 500 USD (please note that shared bathrooms may be required at some locations).

Available upgrades:

Free insurance is included, however there is a mandatory 100 USD fee to remove excess. Must be settle when reaching Bhutan.
