Tour Description:

75% of this ride is on paved roads. This varies from superb smooth dual lane through mountain passes to incredibly rough potholed single lane. Generally, roads are empty except for the main roads into Bishkek and around Issyk Kol. Driving standards will NOT be what you are used to as donkeys, cows etc frequently wander along the road verge and the drivers are maniacal. This is what we call a true adventure!
- 25% of this ride is off road. These off road trails generally consist of loose gravel and tend to be wide and well formed. Many passes will be on gravel with a lot of switchbacks. Rarely, tracks will have deep washouts, gravel heaps, wheel ruts and have huge drop offs.
Itinerary
- Day 1: Upon arrival at Bishkek airport, our transfer will swiftly take you to the joining hotel. Be ready for an early start tomorrow. Today, you will meet your crew for a tour briefing and welcome dinner.
- Day 2: Embark on a brief introductory ride to the breathtaking Ala Archa National Park before returning to Bishkek.
- Day 3: Leaving city lights behind, we head south into the mountains, crossing the 3,586 m Too Ashuu Pass. Tonight, experience the beauty of Chychkan Canyon, with a basic hotel perched over a roaring glacial river.
- Day 4: Today’s ride brings us to the world’s largest Walnut grove at Arslanbob, a charming village nestled between the Ferghana and Chatkal Ranges.
- Day 5: Descend from the mountains into the expansive Ferghana Valley, arriving in the historic city of Osh in the late afternoon.
- Day 6: Ride south over the 2,389 m Chyyrchyk Pass, exploring the road leading to Tajikistan before circling back to Osh amidst breathtaking rugged scenery.
- Day 7: Leaving Osh, we ascend from the fertile Ferghana Valley, hitting dirt tracks that climb to a thrilling 3000 m at Kaldama Pass. Overnight at a homestay in Kazarman.
- Day 8: A day of stunning riding with ascents and descents via incredible twisties. End the day at Naryn’s finest hotel, the Khan Tengri.
- Day 9: Depart Naryn, climbing to 2000 m with stunning views of the snow-covered At Bashy Range. Overnight in a traditional Yurt Camp under the “Dragon’s Teeth”.
- Day 10: Challenging riding, crossing rivers, ascending and descending mountain passes, all rewarded with the first glimpse of Song Kol, our second yurt camp beside the lake.
- Days 11-14: Explore the beautiful region around Karakol, base for four nights. Visit the stunning Altyn Arashan, a picturesque Alpine Valley at 3000 m.
- Day 15: Ride the northern shores of Issyk Kul, bordering Kazakhstan, en route to Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan’s capital, for our final night together.
Departure day:
The choice is yours – spend some extra time in Ulaan Baatar or catch your flight back home.
Accommodation:
15 nights of accommodation: 11 nights in 3 to 4 star hotels, 2 nights in traditional yurts, 2 nights in home-stays.
A flexible attitude is needed, as services in these extremely remote regions of Central Asia will NOT be what you are accustomed to.
All accommodation is on a twin share basis. If you are traveling alone we will pair you up with another solo traveler. However, if you prefer single accommodation a single supplement is available: US$ 900.00 (please note that you may be required to share a bathroom at least once on this trip)
